I'm with Dazza, anything that swims. Haven't fished enough up here, (Yeppoon Area), to know what to target. Mainly looking for reefies as I love a good feed of fish. Anyone care to fill me in on the main species up here during the winter?

Well the Blue Marlin should be around in numbers till early june( with any luck) and can be caught right through winter so that should sort out the sport fishing out!! as for meat fish well that's an entirly differant game!!

Tie a fly that imitates a bunch of green weed and drift it as you would normally fishing for them. Ive ever seen it used with a float and slaughter them

FYI: Caught on a 3.5m beach rod, eggbeater reel, live yabbies, 12lb line (BCF, Surecatch "Power" to be precise), #3 ball sinker, dark swivel, 1m trace ending with a Mustad long shank #4 baitholder hook, loaded with a frrrrresch live yabby ....
Got there 6:15am Sat. morn, (31 Mar), by 9am the bites were starting to get rather scarce.... I think the top of the tide was around 7am, perhaps 7;30am.
Yummy yummy, fresh fish for dinner for a couple of days !!!!!
Fingers crossed for a repeat tomorrow morning, there's freeezer space looking for fish
