Went crabbin' last week and when I came home one of the springs broke on the trailer, thankfully I had mudgards. Luckly it did it on the footpath out the front of home. So I stripped the wohle trailer down, ordered some Por15 (awesome stuff) in the silver, which turned up the next day. Went up to Beenleigh to the trailer joint and got new spring, axle, hubs...the whole sha bang. I put it all back together yesterday and it looks good but the old 14"Rims are shaged so I'll go off today and find some.
So was wondering if there is anyone on the Gold Coast that will galvanis(?) rims, other wise I just paint them with the Por15, which turns out like powder coat but not porus like powder coat.
not a great pic as the sun is just comming up, to see how good por15 is on old trailers.
Rob.
bummer, thanks mate.
I think I'll just paint the new rims with this stuff too. Just sprayed inside all the steel frame with that Tectyl 506... the bloody tinnie will corrode away before the trailer
It'd be cheaper to buy new from Active Fab. To get galvanised they would need to be sandblasted first. Then still have old rims that look good. Cheers Pete.
litenup, your a champ, I didn't even think of that and Active is where I got the axle, springs and stuff from. Just rang them and order 2 new Gal @46 bucks each, will have them for me on Monday.
Thanks,
Rob.
