hey tiges ive got 20lb nitlon braid spooled up on my reel that went ka-bang. never heard anything like it thought my rod snapped. ive been using 40lb leader, sometimes even more but not having as many hits. dropped it down the other night to 30lb and got more hits. we are in one good spot mind you. im just glad my mrs got one,her first ever jack at 48.not bad. think the approaching storm may have stirred them up a bit. going back on thurs after this wind here stops. its blowing about 35 knots

Hey Pistol, maybe the reason for such a good session was because of the approaching storm.

I have been told about how jacks can fire up just before a storm will hit, I was out at Boggy Creek just before it hit us and big schools of bait were jumping all over the place (didnt get any hook ups).

I just like to shite stir the big fella Pete. As you know, one of my regular haunts has a lot of weed in it. I fish a pretty tight drag to keep the fish from running straight in the weed. Wheezer has to fish a lighter drag setting cos his Pixie has a sticky drag.
