Geat trevally what ever it is. They certainly now how to fight and on light strig just so much fun. Sounds like the noosa area is fishing well at the moment for all the summer species.

    Cheers

my first impression it looks like a turrum. havnt seen one of those for a while. last one i saw was pistol pete nailed one in woods bay. cale cales to me are a bit stumpier sort of trev they only grow max about 660 this one has the length to it.

Mine says that too.....but it was printed waaaay back in 1982....maybe the 'ole cale cale has evolved rapidly in the last couple of decades

Definitely a cale cale, have caught one in the river before but not quite that size... its a ripper. Mackeral in the river... whats next, we caught a jevunile cobia in there last year.... its such an awesome spot. Another tip when the trevs are boiling on the surface, go for a stick bait softie like a 3" poerwbait or something and with a jighead to get u some distance cast and just crank it in erraticalley jsut below the surface... dont worry u cant wind to fast. Had a heap of success there with this technique!
