    friday night jacks!

hit the nerang river again after last weeks sucsess with the 55cm jack, things started off really well with one cast with the cast net resulting in a net full of perfect size poddy mullet! (15cm) we fished the same bridge but diferent pylon using the good ol snood rig hoping to get my mate his first jack, things were quite for an hour till my rod takes off! i was quick to lock it in gear and pull him away from his home! wthin 20 seconds he was in the net! 46cm! i was stoked but my mate wasnt to happy!
moved to another pylon to try our luck after 3 hours i had another big hit but he missed the hook but did i nice job of chomping the mullets head in half! so close to the hook, spewin! things were quite till about three am when we moved to our last pylon for the night, after nearly falling asleep watching the tip of my rod my mullet started to panic with the tip bouncing hard! i pict up my rod and said you ready adam! he said f@#k off you better not pull another! then it hit hard! just keeping him away from his home i got him to the net and in the boat a quality 48cm! the colour was really dark on this one awesome looking fish! both were released to be caut again next time! it was a quite trip home for adam he wasnt happy at all! hopefully the pics come up in colour so yous can see the darkness of the 48cm. `

    cheers luke.

    Hi Luke,
Nice report,And fish.Ya pics came out in black & white on my puta,But they still look great.I was just commenting elsewhere that it's good to see something different in photos for a change.A bit of an oldschool look to em.
The underlying spirit of angling,Is that the skill of the angler,Is pitted against the instinct and strength of the fish,And that the latter is entitled to an even chance for his life. Regards, Hardb8.Kickin tails and razin scales since 1979.

Great Jacks! Sounds like they put up a solid fight. I haven't livebaited yet, seems like another dimension in fishing definitely worth trying. Great work and the black and white photos are excellent. Well done

Top stuff Luke. I was out with Whytey Sunday morning and pulled the hooks on a what would have been a solid red under a mooring.
We were just chatting about your recent exploits when this post goes up. Nice stuff mate. The big blow today tho makes me think it's Autumn and with it the cooler weather. Nighty nite Jack????
