    Lenthalls this week

Stayed up at wongi and M'borough for the week and fished Lenthalls ,to see just what the fuss is about, took my partner and we had a ball, unfortunatly my digi camera died and i had to use the phone with nearly flat batts ,so pics arnt good.. The road in is reasonable if you go up the second one ,the first road is a shocker ,and we found the security guys good and helpful .We had a drive around the dam for the best part of the first day and tossed a few lures and got a few bass to 45cm .
Day 2 and we got serious ,out to the dam about 6.30 and didnt raise a fish till nearly 10 but we spoke to a couple of other people who had got a few small bass but it picked up around lunchtime and my partner got her first barra ,man was she happy, 68cm and full of fight,by the end of the day we had 4 bass and 4 barra the biggest bass was 50 cm fork length
Day 3 ,we got out a little earlier to get some surface action but were dissappointed we couldnt get a hit ,but it was short lived as we changed to hardbodys and the barra went off ,by the end of the day the scorecard was me 5 barra ,partner 4 barra and they took 5 lures home to play with ,ther were a few bass as well but i really didnt count .
Day 4 we had another lash at the surface but still no good and later that day met a bloke paddling a canoe who couldnt stop telling us what a fantastic morning he had on the surface right up in the skinny water , our results were about the same as the day before but it was so nice to be there it didnt matter Day 5 and we had a flick in the morning and left around lunchtime ,caught a few more and just cruised around
In my opinion 6 hp is plenty ,its not bigwater and theres a lot of timber and really this late in the year 630 is fine for us,although a late finish would be nice ,we had a great time caught plenty of big bass and barra to 70cm and they really have read the rulebook ,they know every snag in the place and know how to use them
hopefully i have attached a pic of the G.F's firs barra sorry about the quality

Sounds like a great trip mate, well done. Congrats to the Mrs as well on her first barra. I'm definately going to have to pull my finger out and check out this dam to see what all the fuss is about

There still seems to be confusion over what size motore you are allowed, all the signs from the highway in say 6 HP but the 2 security blokes said i could use up to a 15 , the overiding factor is 4 KNOTS so i guess its arbitary really ,
I got a 6 of ebay for a couple of hundred and stuck it on the 4.1 i have and it was fine .You are right about the place hardb8 its a great place to fish ,my only hassle was the wind ,when i was fishing a few snags it would blow me into them too quick and between attending to the electric and trying to be accurate it was testing to say the least ,even with autopilot on .
