    Re: Lenthalls Dam

    No worry James.

If I ever got up to Lenthalls you will notice I only have a 3.3hp so nothing dodgy from me.

If I think of any other dodgy crap whilst reading about lovely lake lenthalls I will post so you can keep on top of the dodgy buggers that seem to frequent lenthalls.

Best of luck in your new job.

    Thumbs up Re: Lenthalls Dam

If you decide to come out, then by all means say Gday.

    Cheers
    James
I'll certainly do that James , not sure when that'll be just yet but should be in the next month or two. Might even just borrow the old fellas' little tinny , easier.

You've got a tough job , stuck in a boat out on the water everyday , if it gets too much for you , sing out and I'll volunteer to relieve you for a while

    Dont bet on it.

Before I went to Lenthalls a few months back, I was debating with myself over wether to register my 4.9m boat or not. (Normally only use electrics, so had not previously registered it)

You see my Johno 6hp had no decals on it, and I figured if I dropped a big "4" on the back of the donk I could save myself a quick hundred dollars - no registration required!

But mulled it over, and figured the last thing I wanted to do was have a motor with a sus number on it going into Lenthalls, If they twigged the motor was bigger than branded, I could not prove it was only a 6HP and might get kicked off all together. So I registered it. I also stuck a big "6" on it for the trip, just for the security guards.

When I got home, I peeled the 6 off the motor, (it had started to lift) and happily went about my usual electric dam fishing. Anyway a few weeks a go I thought, the boat is registered, I'll take it for a run down burpengary creek with the 6hp on it.

On my return to the ramp, there was fisheries waiting for me. Very polite, checked all my gear, then he looked at the motor, read the serial number and said, I see this is a 6HP, is the boat currently registered?

Thats about when I thanked my lucky stars my conscious had got the better of me!

Trust me it is easy to tell the HP of quite a few motors from the serial numbers, so changing the decals could backfire on you. It is technically fraud to do so, whilst I dont think they would bother to call the police, they would certainly send you home.

However if you do decide to "risk it" you can get complete decal sets off Ebay for nearly every motor and size ever made, for about $16. (Yeah I was serious about doing it before my conscious got the better of me!)
