the only place to go mate is south west rocks about an hour and a half from taree. you will catch everything from bream to marlin within 2 kms from the coast.its heaven on earth.

Gotta agree on SWRocks. Problem though if old mate is looking for a quick fish.

They (Taree) have a pretty big bream comp down there each year so there must be bream in the river. Foster is the same.
Why is all the good weather around on weekdays?

There's also some nice Jewfishing to be had off the beaches around Indian Head, just need to pick the tides and moon phases.

35 minutes north of Taree is a river called the Camden Haven, three towns around the entrance to that called Laurieton, North Haven and Dunbogan. Its the safest bar entrance(tho all the issues re crossing a bar still apply) on the mid north coast and there are many close in reefs that fish extremely well. All the pelagics are available close in as well. And the estuary itself fishes well for all the usual suspects....and you get some fantastic jew off the easy to fish breakwalls. This is also the HQ (or at least it used to be) for the Hastings District Sportfishing Club. I have fished the area on and off for the last 35 years...so if you want any detailed info...PM me.

    Cheers
    Greg
