Is this the original Jackall?
I first bought these Shakespeare bibless crankbaits in the early 70's. They have an overall body length of 52mm.
I used to fish them for Sooties and Jungle Perch in the upper reaches of the Herbert River and also Keelbottom Creek.
They have a very tight "shimmy" action which was very successful then and still very effective on Bass.
As this is the only one I have left, does anyone know where I can still get hold of any?
Kind regards... David

Re: Is this the original Jackall?
Hi David,
Looks very similar to Heddons Sonic,Not exactly sure but I think the Sonics would be around the same vintage.
If you were to have a look on (ebay) Can I say that? You may just find one of the lures you have pictured.
Good luck m8.

G'day David,
Interesting looking lure there mate. Hardb8 is is on the money... definetely looks like a Heddons model of some sort. The sooties in the Herbert would definetely hammer that!
Cheers

Re: Is this the original Jackall?
Thanks Theo and Hardb8
For some reason I was sure they were Shakespeare but now I think about it they most probably were Heddon Sonics. At the time the most common lures for sale were Arbogast, Shakespeare or Heddon. Bought lures like these were a real luxury so most lures were home made from Meranti offcuts.
I had a look on E*** and they seem to be still readily available.
Thanks and kind regards... David

I have the same lure and it's a Shakespear copy of the Heddon Sonic, not a bad bass lure at times
