    Nice snapper and new PB

Went for a throw this morning and managed to beat my week old personal best snapper which last week was 59cm, this mornings effort went 67 cm and you really got to love it when that light braid screams off the reel, was good to catch a few today after a few quite weeks, im thinking there was just too much bait around for a while, anyway got this fella on my favourite sp a 3 inch atomic minnow on 8lb crystal fireline and was using one of the squidgy finnese 3 grm heads as they are cheaper and seem just fine in the shallower water ( under 20 feet), next stop is 80 cm, and this fella was photographed and then released to fight another day, oh and produce a million eggs per annum i hope..

The dropshot is a 7ft2 2-4 kg with a shortened butt and it works great, lots of action for casting and it has lots of muscle, my best fish on it was a 75cm mac tuna, great value.

    Alleycat,

with those rod details you just gave - is that a grphite or glass rod?

I'm assuming it is graphite given the amount of muscle it has.

I purchase a 7ft 2-4kg, but in glass and it's great to cast and work a light lure/plastic, but I'm afraid of what will happen if it hooks anything decent.

I'm thinking I will have to switch to the graphite for the strength.

Hi marty, i just hope it produces a million eggs before you catch it and spike your finger and then choke on a bone while eating her and then getting gastro, but really it was the best feeling to see her swim back down into the bay, try it guys and you will see what i mean, keep the plate size stuff ( 35-50) and let the breeders go to catch again when bigger and and they have bred.

    ALLEY & BRENT,

Completely understand what you guys are saying but still can't help but go back to my comments on a previous post that stated if we keep taking all the 35-50cm fish, how are any going to get the chance to become big breeders? It's not like some fish are born at 10cm, others at 30cm and others at 50cm etc... They're all tiny and have to be left to grow to such lengths so if we keep cleaning a particular size range, we are going to end up with a massive generation gap! I think it is hard to refute such a statement don't you think?
