    Talking Lucky Last Cast

Left Manly at 5:00am to showa couple of English relatives what the bay has to offer. After a couple of unproductive hours at Green, we tried Mud, after another couple of hours had nothing but lots of small fish and grinners decided to see if there were any Macs around.

Drove from Mud to Sandhills and up to 4beacons and only spotted a few small schools of Mac Tuna . Headed further North and decided to try jigging up around the shipping markers North of Tangalooma.

I was just about to admit defeat and pack up, when ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, after about 10 minutes I was really ahppy I had the knotable graphite leader end result First SM, weighed in at 7.6kg . Fortunatley got a photo before I had to cut the tale off to fit in Esky.

One fish makes it all worthwile and my guest now believe me when I tell them there is great fishing in the bay,.

Hope the phot turns out ok.

    Cheers

15 lb spin outfit (live fibre 9' with daiwa emblem pro 5500) the lure was a YZD pillie with modified hook (its now been retired as it was totally shredded)

We were fishing the eastern side of the main channel strainght out from cowan. No other boats in the immediate area.

Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. But ,flogging him into submission will result in him taking up crabbing.... and once he gets a taste of that sh*t, well, he may never return again.

Good fish there little Brother. I see my lessons have been well learn't

Not a bad first Mac season for you with your first Schoolie then Spottie to be followed by a Spaniard. Now just Shark and Broad Barred to get the complete set.

Nice fish to end a good Maccy season on.

    Cheers

    Ben (Amokk)

Got your PM and tried to reply a couple of times yesterday but got error messages, I tried again this morning, let me know if it got through.

Lure was a blue 28 gm yzd pillie, technique used long casts into the turbulance running away from beacon with a 20 sec sink and then very fast straight line retreival .

On top of this 99% luck I think as the lure doesn't spend much time in the strike zone when they are deep.

    Good luck
