    Sand Crabs Save The Day

Went out in the bay with Ausfish member RobSue early on saturday. We arrived at our destination at 3:45am Rob was fishing with unweighted pillies and i was using sp's, anyway no fish before daylight. We dropped 7 collapsable pots at about 5:30am, then it was back to drifting. As we arrived at spot x, i spotted a couple of mates and one of them was on to a quality snapper that was giving him plenty, a short time later he boated a 80cm fish . We continued to fish for one small squire and one for the esky @ around the 50cm mark..... the fishing seemed very slow. So about 7:00 we pull the pots and to our suprise we got 17 nice sandies. We fished for another hour or so for jacksh*t. Checked the pots again for a further 6 crabs, went home early with 23 crabs and a nice eating size squire.
Pics attatchedof crabs and mates 80cm snapper.
