any one know the reason ?? geez i have camped there for over 30 years and was just planning the next trip
If the reason is environmental, does that mean Fraser and other areas will close?
No logic behind them if you ask me
Mike
thats crap!!!!!!!! its my favourite local place.....every time i go there i think how well kept it is............that shits me
Probably the idea of some greenie, who next year will propose closing all access to the area so people can't even use it during the day.

This area is covered by the Redland Shire Council, did you notice if it was a Council sign or a state gov sign, either way it's another safe boating camping spot closed to campers.
Are you still permitted to camp at Peel?
Glenn
Sad thing to see indeed, have camped there many time with mates. Has a kind of significance with us in a lot of ways. Can't say this is going to stop us though. What a joke.
council sign
Bugger that sucks, I have only camped at Blaksley's once.
Here is a sunset shot from last year
Great times when having a quiet cold one and watching that sunset

The sign was removed late last week - The matter is being 'reconsidered' by the Redland Shire Council.
The land belongs to Dept Natural Resources and managed by Redland Shire Council on their behalf - because of it's location it is difficult for them to manage.
The problem is the users.
One bloke moved in permanantly, others have cut down trees, left rubbish etc.
No toilets is another concern.
You need to complain to your local member or the Redland Council or else 'after a review' they will close it again.

Thanks Dave,
will shoot an email away 2morrow. Like a few others have said it's a great local place to camp. I haven't seen any permanant residents, other than a few roos and kookaburras, but there's certainly less trees than a few years ago.
It was pretty clean and tidy last time we where there, but that was last year tho.
Cheers,
Tony
