    Question Furuno 4100

    Am thinking of getting a Furuno 4100 Mono screen sounder. Anyone got anything good or bad to say about these?

    Dont want to spend any more than $500 and have heard the new Lowrance sounders have issues in the salt, hence the choice.

    I have one and its ok i guess, I haven't had any other. I use it in Botany Bay which goes down to 25m and I can see the bottom well.

    I does see the bait clouds but I have only seen a couple of true arks.

    I had it hooked up to a Garmin GPS and all worked ok.

    Happy with mine.
    It has the features of the 6100 but smaller and cheaper.
    It has all the true Furuno features like bottom lock, bottom zoom. Duel freq.
    Another really great feature is that you can adjust the gain when in Auto mode.

    got a mate with one has no probs picking up the bottom in 150 meters of water so it must be a good machine
