My favorite rod and reel combo would have to be my Shogun Light spin rod matched with a Daiwa Procyon 3i 2000 spooled with 4lb Fireline and a 8lb leader. I use this combo for lure and soft plastic fishing for Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout and Redfin.

My favourite outfit at the moment is a 6kg, 6'4" Shimano T-Curve rod matched with a Shimano Chronarch 50MG. Running 12lb braid on it at the moment and use it for everything from plastics and hardbodies in the mangroves to bass stuff in the fresh. Love it.
My favourite combo at the moment is an ABU 5600 C4 on an Abu Morrum rod with 20 lb braid. I 've upgraded the drag with Carbontex washers. Use it on barra and bottom bashing very versatile.

I love this Penn Powerstick 3-5kg class rod with crystal tip and Fuji guides coupled with a Penn Captiva CV4000 spinning reel. Action is great and has already proved itself against hard fighters like Giant Herring and good squire. The best thing about the rod is I still can't believe that it came with Fuji guides all on the backbone for just $49.95.Must have been a mistake on the price but Poodroo scored well.

Poodroo
My favorite rod/reel combo is an old 3" buckelled and split wooden spooled Alvey matched to an old 5'6" broken/repaired glass rod with maybe 2 matching guides that I fished with when I was a little snapper in the early 70's. Loved that rod and reel.
Just wished Dad could find it in his shed![]()

Hey all
An old jarvis walker free spooler![]()
It's an old rod and the reel is quite wobbly but for some reason I have a lot of luck on it when it is pulled out of storage. Only used for bait fishing of course.
Used it one morning off a jetty at Caloundra landed near 50 bream on it. My bro was using something more up to date and caught 3 fish out of the same spot. Same bait, same hooks, same fishing line, same time go figure that one outI've since put it back into storage because it's cheating when used

Erskine Signature 1000 reel on a Penn Pinpoint 6' medium baitcast rod. Use it to target bass yellowbelly and has the power when a big greenfish turns up.
Snyderglass 11'6" light surf rod with penn applause 7000 reel it is a beautifully light and balanced combo that has caught everyting from whiting and dart to 4.5Kg tailor from the each and Rat Kingies and trevally off the rocks. I have often thought of updating the rod but I cant do it as nothing feels as good.
Shimano 6'8" 3-5kg rack raider with a Shimano Stadic 2500 with 6lb fireline.
The best rod and reel I've ever owned.
im using a shimano staro stix 2-5kg m 7ft spin stick

The underlying spirit of angling,Is that the skill of the angler,Is pitted against the instinct and strength of the fish,And that the latter is entitled to an even chance for his life. Regards, Hardb8.Kickin tails and razin scales since 1979.

A bad days fishing has got to be better than any day at work......
Today I purchased an Okuma ignite iT-40 5 bearing spinning reel and a Penn 650 spinfisher rod for $80.00 incl line..I enjoy fishing but have rarely had the spare time,I also have a 9ry old son who is now more keen to go fishing ,so hopefully it will see more action than the 20yr old rod/reel I had before.Did I do OK??
