Weipa Bound

G'Day All

I'm off to Weipa again in about 3 weeks, and I'm wondering if anyone can give me a heads up on how the fishings been, what lures are working, and any other useful information.

I had heard that due to the lack of a good wet season the Barra had been a bit slow, but I had noticed a bit of rain recently.

Any offshore info also appreciated.

I have a mate that lives in Weipa, he says he has not been out the front much because it has been too windy. Last time he went out he went to Pera head (about an hour run south) and he said it was real slow.If all else fails you can't miss under the Mission River bridge, try walking out there at night, look down and you will see big threadfin and barra feeding on the baitfish that gather in the light, but remember it is illegal to fish off the bridge. I hope you get some good weather and some great fish.
