Gladstone or Boyne Island to go to reef?
Hi all,
Was thinking about heading up this way in a month or so to do some filming and wondering if I wanted to get out to NW Island where would be the best spot to stay and where would I launch from. Can you get out between the gap N of facing Island and would this make a shorter trip.
Have regulary been to 1770 and been to lamont etc from here so I know the distances involved to get out to the reef. Have looked on the net for holiday homes at gladstone but have not had much success if anyone has a holiday house or knows someone with one would be glad to do business with a fellow ausfisher.
Thanks Guys

Re: Gladstone or Boyne Island to go to reef?
We just spent Fri. night anchored off NW Island. Launched from the boat harbour at 2:30 took the "North Entrance" (that is the gap you are asking about, the channel is marked and well used) arrived at NW Island just after 4:00.
Stay anywhere in Gladstone, it only takes ten mins. to get anywhere else. Holiday rentals can be a bit scarce but contacting the local RE agents would be your best bet.
PM me if you would like more info or just wait as there are quite a few Ausfishers up this way.
