Thread: Steering Wheel not Straight

    Unhappy Steering Wheel not Straight

Call me fussy, but man it is annoying me.

My steering wheel is not straight and when traveling in a straight line it looks to be turning left I have tried taking the wheel off to move it on the splines....but it is keyed in the one position and cannot be moved this way. What am I missing guys, or is that just it!!!

I noticed that the steering shaft that slides out of the engine mount hits the boat on full right hand turns...like it is too far to the right (may explain why it is down to the left). Anyway I have attached some pictures (I hope they worked). Any advice would be appreciated.

Oh, its a 4.35 Alleycraft 2002 with a 50Hp Yamaha (front steer obviously)

Mate the way to fix it is to take the cable out, there is a pin.from the steering helm and put it back in.

    hope that helps.
