Nuggstar and I headed to twin waters weir this afternoon armed with hardbodys and softies in the hope of a trevor, mangrove jack or even a bream. We started away from the weir at one of brian's spot x's and before i could even get a line in the water he had a bream on his new ecogear sx40. First cast for me...snag, seemed like another one of those days. After a few more casts around the first spot x for a few baby moses perch we moved on to a new spot x. Same theme appeared, with brian again scoring a small bream on the hardbody while I managed the baby perch on the softies. When we finally got to the weir Brian again managed a small bream, and also to hook his brand new lure among the structure. After about 5 or 10 minutes struggle and a bum slide down the slippery edge he finally got his new favourite lure back. Not much else happening around there and brian had to get back to the ball and chain, so we headed off. A nice little sesh for brian, and it was good for me to actually see a bream caught on a hardbody. I'd heard about it for years but had never actually seen one hooked and landed. We also met another keen fish who may be joining up to ausfish, so plenty of positives from a short little session.
