Green Squire / Mud Snapper 10th March

Howdy folks i took fellow ausfisher Mick 81 to my favourite spot at green this morning.
We left manly boat ramp at 5-15am.
We should have arrived well before sunrise because the squire were on the chew the moment our plastics hit the water.
We both got smoked several times but managed a few keepers.
After about an hour we headed off to mud hunting some bigger fish.
Met up with mate Jim and his 2 crew.
Jim said we just pulled in a big snapper.
I thought he was joking but sure enough a 82cm snapp was held up for us to view.
Awesome specimen and i guess around 6 or 7 kilo.
His crew managed another nice 61 cm snapper soon after.
Some people have all the luck..lol
    Great effort you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was chatting to T1 early in the morning and he said that mud was quiet....".sure mate you were not in the right spot"..lol
A TOP DAY TO BE OUT ON THE WATER AND A BONUS OF FRESH FISH FOR DINNER...WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Cheers Brent

High and Dry the water depth i fish depends on tide and wind direction but can be in as little as 3 metres and as deep as 10 metres.
We fished the 6 to 10 metre drop this morning while the tide was almost dead low.
Very little run this morning but the south wind and tide going in the same direction we were able to target squire sitting on the ledge.

Looks like a great day on the water Brent. Fish played the game as well. You seem to be getting the odd one at Green which is good to hear. I used to fish it a few times when I was younger and had the bro in law to go out with.
Got some decent fish there too, mainly in Winter tho.
Hoping to get out there soon in my own rig.
Northern or Southern end mate? If you don't mind me asking.

Richie i usually fish n/e but occassionly get the odd one at the southern end.
Good bait schools around Green this morning sure helped the catch rate.
Must have caught and released 40 fish today between us.

Re: Green Squire / Mud Snapper 10th March

wak69 we only use soft plastics.
The 82cm snapper was caught using a 3" Atomic.
The fish caught at Green fell to 4" Zooms, Berkley powerbaits and gulp pumpkinseed turtleback worms.
