    1770 reef tips/spots

    Hi All,

I am taking the boat and the family to 1770 for a week at the end of the month. I was wondering if anyone can give me some offshore info (up to 10 or so miles offshore because I am in an open boat!)!. If anyone has any waypoints they would be kind enough to share it would be greatly appreciated. I'm not an esky filler, mostly catch and release so you can be assured I wont hammer it too much. Might only get out once or twice anyway, it would just save alot of aimless searching.

Thanks for any feedback, tips or waypoints. Please PM me.

    cheers steve

Fishplukka (what a cool name!! I would hate to have to say that after 50 schooners though!!)

Thanks for the advice. They sound really good. Most 'local' tackle shops will do that for you I spose. i have to drop in and but some bait and stuff, so I will ask them. How did you go inshore??. I might need a back up plan if the weather turns bad, or if I take the wife and bub out.

I was thinking about plastics in the river for flatties etc and bait and jigs on the reefs if I can get some marks. I was also thinking about trolling a few skirts offshore for pelagics and marlin (if they about then, any advice from anyone would be appreciated )

    cheers steve

    HI Steve .
Ive fished from 1770 on multple occasions. There are quite a few places too fish in this range from the bar. However probably more chance off pulling teeth than someone giving you a location. I normally head 9 nm n/neof the bar too good bait grounds .Sound this area for your table fish there are lots of small rubble patches. Holding parrot , hussar ,cod & if your lucky the odd trout.Have a look on your gps chart there should show a wreck abit further west off this area.worth a look.. i usually catch my lives there are pull lots of quality bycatch. however i manly fish out among the bunker group itself.
