Formosa 5.5 Centre Cab, 4mm keel and 3mm sides

I am considering upgrading to a bigger boat to go out a little further. The formosa is within budget of and 5.5 seems an ideal size. not to big , not too small.

Has anyone had any dealings with this type of boat and how does it stand.

Firstly i need to sell my other boat b4 i see the bank.

AT $34,000 for 115 2 stroke yamaha. - it's not a bad price or for an extra $700 go to 140hp. - overpowered petrol sucker?????. i think.

i'm on a tight budget, but can afford a little more.

    Tim,

I had a look at one when purchaising late last year, I did not see it as a finished product but must say that I was sent to the factory and Duncan looked after me and showed me everything they had done ont he one they were building. He even pulled out the seats and trim ranges available out of the sotrage container and placed them in the boat so I could see the workable space.

I must say that I was impressed by the overall quality of workmanship and the time taken by a small operation to show me around their factory and surrounds. I didn't end up getting one because of the wait compared to a dealer that had one of my other options available there and then (this was the part that convinced me).

I think that Queensland Powerboat centre may have one in stock at the moment as I think I saw one when driving past there yesterday on the way down the coast.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers,
    Fez

For the extra $$ have a look at 4s options, the Suzuki 140 would be ideal and weight shouldn't be an issue,189kgs???, depending on max transom weight.
I have a johnson 140 ala suzuki, average 10L/h or about 2L to 1K.I have a TABS 5.35 c/c, hull weight is 800kgs, all up with fuel and gear it is about 1100kgs and at wot pulls about 38knts, I cruise at 25knts easily.
    Cheers Peter
