    Bull sharks

    Hi,
    Is anyone on the Coast actually fishing bullsharks?. I wouldnt mind trying myself just for fun, meaning i would release the fish. What is good bait and where are the "hot spots". cheers

    Heard second hand from a well known local fishing identity that the best spot is under the Monaco St bridge using live trevally with a nick cut into their tail. Foolproof apparnetly.

    live poddies/mullet are great to and the coomera river is full of them.

    As above, and near the causway at Bond Uni. There is a guy who was catching them from his unit on the water. The guy was living on the 5th floor or something!!

    Do a search for bull sharks and you will find a mountain of info.

    Also, Bream are brilliant bait for them. But I like to eat bream so mullet/trevors are what I'd use.

    The seaway at night with whole or fillet of mullet, we get a few about 2foot.
    we don't mainly fish for them, their just by catch I suppose.

    Why release the mongrels... they are bloody aggressive and growing in numbers.

    we have been getting them on slabs of bonito behind the piggery in the upper reaches of the tweed river heading towards m'bah.

    Yep! Not as good as black tip or shovellies though (IMHO).
