Lifting a boat motor up.
Hi guys, looking for somebody who can give me a hand, has a hoist that will asisst me to lift a f60 up one bolt. I feel that the motor is a little too low. Solas recommends it as it's too sluggish.
Will pay a carton of beer. Live in Western suburbs.

Re: Lifting a boat motor up.
Couple of loose G' clamps, and a floor jack under the skeg will lift it easy.
Even if you leave one bolt loosely holding on to the transom, you can swing the motor to the side, hold it in with a smaller bolt until you even the sides up then put bolts in place.

Put the jockey wheel on blocks if needed until the skeg sit's on the ground on some ply or concrete, undo the top 2 bolts and remove, loosen the bottom slider bolts, raise or lower the front jocky wheel to atain height needed then place the two top bolts back in -easy!
Just last saturday I lifted a 90hp Yamaha onto the back of my boat, me lift wife bolted it up, I am good at lifting heavy things!!! It's a shame
cheers fnq

Re: Lifting a boat motor up.
as long as the slide are loose the motor will move with very little effort when useing the jocky wheel. a piece of ply or rubber under the point of the skeg will prevent any damage
