Giant Herring at Coomera on SPs

went for a throw on the weekend at coomera to give the sps another go,plenty of baitfish getting smashed so i was pretty excited about a good sp session. threw out a squidgy fish 50mm in silver fox witha 1/6 head goy nothing for about 20min,then another cast slowlt twitching in,bang the reel goes off,i was fighting this fish with aerial jumps gallor but just couldnt get back any line,so i just played the waiting game for him to tire out,after 5min of jumping and slowly bringing in some line i tighten up the drag and got him in,in the net it was my pb giant herring,didnt get a proper measurement but i know he wasa good size,a quick pick and let him go,also got a nice but small flathead and hooked a monster sting-ray,about 1m accross,he ran and ran,thought this mongrel is going to spool me so i tighten the drag up full and snap she goes,lucky for me it snapped at the sp,thank god.

hey dave, you can get them a bit but you get more tarpon than the herring,they are both great fun though.
yella,the silver squidgy works 100times better than the gary glitter,it gets a hit nearly every cast while chasing these fish.
