Thread: Red Claw Bonanza

    Re: Red Claw Bonanza

I also sent a letter to my local mp about this issue when darren first put the thing up about rangers handing out fines, but no response either.

Its also amusing that considering we know now that Mr Daren Hokes is NOT a SEQWater employee, that he is able to suggest there is litter in the restricted zones which seems to be his main problem, For you to state this Daren you would have infact been in the restricted zones, im wondering if your trying to scare people away so that you can have this spot all to yourself??

I must also say as i will each and every time this topic is raised that there is no litter in the restricted zones all fishos take pride in this area, i mean we walk through the bush for a good 30 minutes were not going to pollute the area! We love the place!

I can understand people will say rules are rules stay out of the restricted zones, but im not trying to be a "cowboy" i just enjoy fishing for bass, and seeing as the water levels are to low for boats, i use my feet to get around the place.

Im wondering if any fishos have ideas out there so we dont debate over restriced zones vs unrestricted zones, instead why dont we discuss ways in whoch we might be able to get more accsess points to the dam, It seems like such a waste having this great place to fish and not being up to "lawfully" utlise it all.

You only have to read the latest Queensland Fishing Annual which has a 4 page story on the place to realise just how good it is for fishing, and considering there are fishos out there like myself who cant afford a boat (poor uni student), bankside fishing at NPD is a great way to fish.

    Cheers,
    Stokesy

The litter issue personally is a major concern, as you well know after being sent a letter that is only a small part of the reason access is restricted.

The other reason in the letter was that they are unable to keep an eye on whats happening on the dam if people are not in the recreational areas, hence why i suggested better access. And darren if you really were that cioncerened about the litter at the place, instead of creating havoc and infuriating people on these chat boards by stating your someone with power at the dam which clearly you are not, you could have done what has been done before and used these chat boards effectifely to arrange a clean up day.

I dont fish NP dam, but have just read this thread and am a bit bewildered.
This bloke is NOT an employee of the water board????
Yet still he maintains the official stance????
Sounds like he has a vested interest in keeping anglers (as differant to danglers) out.
    Wonder why??????????
hokes, pull your flippin head in.
I would expect a person who is commited enough to the sport of recreational fishing to be a member of this site would have enough nous to not trash a site that takes an effort to get to. Therefore, I think you are really preaching to the converted and would be better off beating your drum elsewhere.
Im sure your intentions are good, just try a differant tactic, maybe annoying some of the grubs out there, they are usually easilly enough to spot.

    Mr Hokes

I tend to agree with stokesy 86 and br65, you do need to pull your head in you w_nker, how about you just stay off our backs 'mister official' and let us catch and release some of those big NPD bass.

    Wheres' ya gun avatar gone?
    So few bullets.
The underlying spirit of angling,Is that the skill of the angler,Is pitted against the instinct and strength of the fish,And that the latter is entitled to an even chance for his life. Regards, Hardb8.Kickin tails and razin scales since 1979.

He he...a great read, suspect that bloke was the owner of the traps and took offense at them being moved

IMO keep fishing withing the fisheries laws of the state, disrespect starts with authority not the people, world history throughout time proves it.

Nothing truly wrong with a bit of 'no harm to do' public disobedience.......

Lived at Whiteside for a while, nice place back then hope it still is.

    cheers fnq
