where does this track lead too?

    G'day

Just wondering where the track that runs inland from freshwater campsite ends up at and connects to?

I had travelled it a few years ago, ended up puling a patrol outa a bog, and he mentioned he came in from a road near gympie?

Does it connect up to something like the cooloola way?

Freshwater campsite as I understand it is about 40km north of the beach access point at tewantin at noosa north shore.

from memory the track comes out about 3/4 of the way between gympie and rainbow.
it takes a far while (lots of bends and holes)

Dave, Fresh Water inland track comes out on to the sealed rainbow beach road, approx 5k's out of town. .

fresh water camp area is approx 40ks from the north shore.

trip through freshwater track to rainbow takes approx 30-40 min depending on conditions.

Cooloola Way is a lot further south and connects rainbow beach road to the counter road ( forestry road ) . Harry's hut road ( upper nooosa river ) can be accesed from this road. It dosent connect to the beach. this is a forestry bypass road leading to Kin Kin and adjacent roads leading to Corooy and Pomona.

    hope this helps.

    surf_man, you're a legend

    Thats the info I'm after.

I have a couple of lady friends up from melbourne in 10 days and want to take them through the coast, up to the beach and through some tracks.

Looks like noosa northshore - freshwater - to rainbow beach road - cooloola way down thru pomona and then off to eumundi is the way to go

Be warned the Freshwater track is being used to transport the remains of the Cherry Venture away.

They are removeing it from the beach so going through there could be a bit of a task, as this is the only way they can take it, as the Liesha Track on the Rainbow side is soft and sometimes un passable.
I hear the Freswater track is in top condition at the moment as the dump trucks have filled all the tacks rutts in.

My advice is to contact The Rainbow Information Centre (5486 3227) and ask all the right Questions and get the latest update on what is the best way to go.
As for the Cooloola way now that is a VERY corrigated rough road

Thanks a heap westie. I'll make the nessecary calls.

I know the cooloola track...... was on it at 3am without knowing it was dirt on a time schedule meeting a few mates @ carlo point for a fishing trip.

If i can tackle it at 2am and not know where I am, any other time will be a breeze

Thanks for the info again westie, I travelled the freshwater track on wednesday.

It was brilliant day, and the track was easy to find.... south side of the road about 4km before you get to rainbow.

The track is in good condition, I had no dramas on it at all and they were doing "roadworks" on it to widen a section of it with an excavator

    Hi Dave,

heading up to north shore this weekend , just checking what the beach conditions for driving are like , heading towards Double island to see how they are going with the cherry venture and for a fish , also with the freshwater inland track is it heavily rutted ,as my brother inlaw is following me up with a xtrail , any advice would be appreiated .

    G'day Mav

The beach was fine.... but I did get caught heading back to the barge @ tewantin. I was on the northern most exit coming back off of the beach and that track is flooded. I had the water come up over the bonnet and 3/4 the way up the windscreen of the rodeo. Apparently 2nd gear was too fast

Apart from that, the beach itself is fine, I would only call the freshwater track moderatly rutted, but the standard height rodeo (wich is pretty damn low) handled it with no worries.

Worst comes to worst, you can always snatch the xtrail out

    Have a good weekend.
