Grass bank at moreton island

After hearing nuggets podcast, would any member point me in the direction of the grass bank on the western side of moreton island.

a map would be great, gps is ok.

I am guessing its just south of the sand hills, heading round the blue hole to days gutter general area but as i said, its a guess Tim.

thanks mike. Was considering heading out to the sandhills to chase a few squid. or tiger squid to say. I'll probably head off from Raby Bay and work my way from the rous to the sandhills.

Best of luck Tim. I only guessed that area, as I know round the southern end of the western side and through the Rous is dugong country, and they feed on the grass banks.

Keep your eye open round the western end into the Rous across to harry Atkinson reef, could be some action there for macs.

I have no idea about what "nugget" was saying, but sounds to me like ya thinking of around Kooringal. Sorry if that's spelled wrong, but campbell's corner area maybe.
I've heard people catch mackeral between the shore there and the sand banks, up around the oyster leases. Certainly seen the occassional one caught from the beach in that area.

Its the area off and around Crab Island, some big squid around at present and Grassies.

sorry Webby.......just checked beacon to beacon and there are two crab islands, one down off runaway bay and one where you said

Just north of peel island and west of the rainbow channel is all weed as far as i know.
