    Nerang River

Anybody know whether the Nerang river, along the park, from the M1 bridge is reasonably consistent for land-based fishing.

I'm contemplating taking the kids there, intend to be using yabbies.

Bream, Whiting, Flathead? Anybody been around there around that area of late?
    Best times?

    thanks

Only 1 way to find out mate.
Take the kids and give it a go.
Doesn't matter if they don't catch a fish, at least they're learning something and enjoying themselves.

    well yeah I suppose.
Had them out at Broadwater and they managed to land a couple of little toss-me-back Bream, 11yo a 32cm Taylor, me a 31cm Flathead, ah and a little flounder I tossed back. And some old guy said he's surprised I caught anything with the boats and jetskis so near the shoreline.

I've tried that stretch of the nerang river on a tip of good hiting catches. Didn't even get a bite tho. I fished the run in from about half tide to full and then waited for the turn and fished a little of the runout at night. hope that helps

    Re: Nerang River

ive fished that part of the river quite a few times mainly live baiting for jacks. the only fish ive got was a 43cm flatty in a cast net getting bait under the train bridge and a metre long pike eel. there are some deep holes on the corner were the rocks are on the shore line if you head towards the m1 bridge there must be fish in there but ive never caught any. near the train bridge on the eastern side there is a sand bank that drops away to a desent hole if you cast towards the big houses hope this helps
