Where to get Trailer springs (nth side)

Had a very lucky escape on the weekend heading home. One of the very rusty tandem springs snapped and managed to catch on a part ofthe trailer on the way up. Meant that the axle was out of alignment, but stayed relatively in place and was drivable just enough to limp home.

So now I am in need of 4 new springs.

Tried googling without much success. The slipper springs are the type that are bent back (like a laying down J) on the top spring. Everywhere I go I find the standard straight or bent slippers, but not the bent back type.

Anyone know where I can get them? They are standard size (about 670mm centres) and 5 leaf.

The setup of the brackets are standard seasaw in the middle, both slippers are fixed at the front end and slip at the back end. Both slipper brackets are round bushes. Was thinking that I may be able to use a straight slipper on the rear spring, but if I did the same with the front spring then the fixed end of the spring would be on teh middle seasaw and slipper to the front. Am I able to have both springs fixed in the middle seasaw and the front slipper to teh front and teh back slipper to the back?

    Regards,

I had a boo-peep there today and I didn't see any springs like that. Just the straight slippers.
But still well worth a call.

There are 2 trailer places in Brendale, special trailers and PBL as stated. Dunno if they sell bitiis & pieces to the public (as opposed to whole trailers)

Vehicle components in Geebung could be a go 3624 3800

Bad luck mate. glad you got home alright.
As has been said there is Mayne springworks on Abbotsford Road at Albion.
There is (or was) also a springworks at Northey Street Windsor, just down from RBH, opposite Tentworld.
Let me know if you need a hand

Some great leads there. Thanks everyone.

Rando, you were probably snoring in bed whilst I was still just trying to get home. The fun side of being a boat owner.... not.
