    Heya Cammy

I find most cut flesh baits and whole dead or preferably live baits work nicely for them. Locally caught herring, hardiheads and mullet will usually attract their attention in closer to structure.

They don't play nice and will try to run you around what ever snag is close by, so it pays to go hard as your gear can handle on them early if you can.

Cod love crabs. I reckon every second cod i have ever caught has caughed up a crab or had one in his gob. Get out at low tide and turn over some rocks, a pair of kitchen tongs will help to catch em.
