I have an Eclipz 40 baitrunner (stainless steel gearing) and an Ignite 30 (from mag subscription) love them both and have had no problems. The only issue (imo) is that their quality control is a bit more lax than Daiwa and Shimano so there are more faults the lifetime warranty should compensate, still better quality control than JW-Rovex (again imo). I have also found that service department are excellent and they will go out of their way to help.
i have an AV 75 and it is a great reel .came with two spools , so i use it on light beach work eg bream , flathead and if i want to step up a gear i can change spools and chase jewies, and anything eles that is foolish enough to take my bait .i have had this reel for 3 years now and it gets used regularly and i have had no problem with it .
Dont touch the epix"s but the eclipze reels are execellant. I"ve seen Shimano 6500 baitrunners Twisted so to me they are not any better. You can modify the drags and they will outpull the shimano any day.
IMO Graham
I've got a couple of baitfeeders I bought new for $50.00 each a couple of years ago. I figured if I got a snapper season out of them I'd be going O.K. and I'd replace them with a Shimano bait runner, but they are still going strong. The reason I had a go is a mate inherited this unnamed overhead from his dad's estate. Had a bear symbol on the backing plate end and turned out to be an early okuma. Chambo thought it was a bit mickey mouse (no offence intended Mickey!) and has tried to kill it but it just keeps coming back for more. He has monstered some fish on it over time. As a result I picked up a couple of titus 50w's and use them for trolling...have used them in the spread a bit but have yet to blood them, I have heard the drags are a bit soft, I hope to find out one day.
