    Fishing Low Tides??

what would all you experienced guys do if you went away fishing the estuaries for the weekend and low tide coincided with sunrise and sunset. thats not exactly ideal is it??? what approach would you take to make the most of your time?

the fish are still there, just in a different place, eg deeper hole, channel, snags somewhere! you just have to find out where and depending on what sort of fish you are targeting depends on where they will be, like Flathead like to "lay" on the edges of a sandbar and such to ambush little mullet and stuff.

Up north, I used to do pretty well on outgoing tides, as Noelm said for flatties and so on doing the old ambush. But...lately I've been going out as the sun is rising on the outgoing flicking HBs and SPs, all to no avail. I can't stir up a trick!! On Sat morning I walked Bulimba ck and then Tinny ck, even in the mud along the banks with not even a sniff. I guess it didn't help that there were a few boats working the creek for prawns. Fish might have been a bit spooked. I need more local knowledge so I guess next thing is to try late afternoon on a rising tide and see if it makes a difference.

I'd think the lotto had come in.
A low tide in the early morn, low light period is my favourite estuary fishing session.
I look at it this way, low tide means less water for the fish to spread out in and the available structure, whether that be snags, drains, drop offs, what ever, is easy to see and work over, with the bait fish more concentrated on the structure.
The early morn low loght period will see the fish be that bit more agressive in feeding, I hope.
The afternoon session all depends on the bloody wind.
    cheers

Where abouts do you fish are you on the northside of brisbane? there are a few good lizard spots on the northside that you can only fish at low tide.

Have been told by my local tackle store (and had a little experience myself) that jacks love the turn of the tide. Doesn't matter whether it is low or high, just have to find them in their hole. Bring dawn/dusk into the equation and you have a winner.

Had a flick this morning at a spot that has been producing tarpon recently. Saw them smashing the baitfish, but I got nothing. Tried 3 different SP's and an HB to no avail.
