Fraser Fishing Expo for the first time

Well, I am attending my first expo.
Can't wait, after seeing all the fun and mayham that happens up there, on the DVD's.

Are there any tips, anyone would like to share about the expo with a first time competitor.

I have been to Fraser a few times, the latest being when a heap of 4wd clubs did the cleanup there over the Australia Day Weekend.

I was going to the expo with a mate, but he has had to pull out, so I will be going by myself.
If anyone else is in the same situation and wants to team up, or if i could join up with another group (thats a bit cheeky of me asking), please drop me a pm.

I am so looking forward to a great time!!!!
    Bring it on!!!!!!!!!!
    Graham.

    No Murf,
    I won't be towing a boat.
I will be chasing those BIG Tailor on the beaches.

    Graham,

Get yourself in a group of blokes that are going. This means you can have at least one night off and have a few drinks at the comp site. Not sure if the crew I am in is going up as yet. I am sure someone here will fit you in though

Make sure you keep a tidy camp, the Rangers are very picky. Read all the info you get from Toyota and stick to it. Make sure everything edible including garbage and detergents are locked away.

Best fishing for Tailor was down the lower end of the island last year. Doesn't mean you won't catch something higher up say off indian but at that time of year the lower part scores better for tailor. Be prepared to miss the evening draws though, the best fishing traditionally will be on dusk & early evening.

Do yourself a favour though and do head to the comp site for at least a couple of the evening draws. The number of first timers who win stuff is always depressing for blokes like me and haven't had a random draw yet .

Finally get yourself a decent live fish keeping setup. Nothing would be more annoying than catching that stonker tarwhine and not able to get it alive to the Catch & release section.

    Cheers

In life, start off wrong and you'll finish wrong. Put just one skeleton in the closet and you'll have to put another one in to hide the first, and so it goes.
But start off right and you'll finish right. There's no comeback when you stick to the truth - and no skeletons!
