I am also very interested in best practice. Those colour screens are precious... any tips?
Do we use the same LCD/screen wipes that are for computer monitors?
Not enough time in the day, to many spots to fish!
I asked the same question at a boat show last year and was told to use fresh water on a very soft damp cloth that get'sused for nothing else. This was the best advice I've been given and it works a treat. I keep the cloth (two cloths from a pair of sunnies) in a safe place and that's all they get used for. I sometimes get the odd spray over mine and when the water dries off it leaves a salt deposit. The soft cloth and a very light wipe does a great job. Also anyone onboard knows not to touch the screens regardless of how clean their hands are and when not in use they are always covered with dust covers and then a towl. Sorry to go on about this but I am fanatical about keeping displays clean..........you wanna see me on the plasma in the lounge! Kids have to keep a 3m wide berth at all times even when the set is off
G'day
The soft cloth nd fresh water is always a good one.
If the screen is a kind of plastic, it's be worth giving it a wipe with some plexus. It's a cleaner/protectant in one and is very very good stuff.
