    Furuno 600l/620 sounders

    Hi guy's,
Does anyone know if the cables off a 600l are the same as the new 620. I have just had my 600L pinched( and a Navman 5500 GPS & 7200 Vhf radio) from my home. The insurance company will pay, and I am not sure if you can buy a 600l anymore, and even if you can I would prefer the newer technology.
    So:
1/ Are the cables the same?
2/ Can the 620 be mounted overhead on a hardtop canopy?
3/ will the transducer be similar?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Cheers
    Lee

Transducer is exactly the same but power is different. Also the 620 uses a different mounting bracket to the 600L. IMO it's much better mounting arrangement. I helped a friend mount one late last year and it was pretty easy.

Hi Scorpion, I just upgraded my 600 to a 620 at christmas. You'll love the new 620 it is a great unit with a much clearer image than the 600.
    The Transducer is the same.
Power and nmea data cable for gps interface are different between the 2 models but you should not need to buy anything as the 620 comes with the power cable which is also a nmea data cable. Therefore the 620 has only 2 cables in total, transducer and a common power/nmeadata cable
    cheers Mark
