    Noosa River Jacks....again

Last week, me and Stewy did the business again.
Jeez.... this is good fishin' up here at Noosa.
Any way, we have made a boat rule of keeping nothing under 400mm and then only 2 fish.
Go to Wide -a - Wake Boards and tackle at Harbortown and see Stewy for the drum. I hate to admit it, but he is Noosa River Jack Master.....
    Enjoy this weeks pics....
1st to 600mm takes the red note...Maybe tomorrow...?

The river near Wide A Wake could get a little crowded soon hey Stu?

mate I'd rather throw out a livie or two and get some decent fish and enjoy myself, rather than troll or throw plastics all night for minimal result and end up whinging about how fished out the river is!

and yes we do keep one or two for the dinner table, but we also release alot of em, it's the guys that'll go out and knock half a dozen or a dozen fish on the head that gets me, that's a waste.

Chalkandcheese- Mate I rekon 1 jack casting is worth 10 on the troll. But know I what your saying. Luckily in NSW castnets are illegal so there is no where near as many live bait fisho's.

aussie_stu- I don't know about minimal results. I recon you can get more jacks on lures if you know what you doing. Plus it really is an awesome feeling getting smacked by a jack on lure. Well done on the release policy no matter how you catch them.

matthias -> sorry mate should say minimal result at the moment, seems the noosa jacks are shy on the lures at the moment, last year guys had great success trolling and casting the same area we working, but this year they're hitting the baits (sometimes very timidly) yet not really the lures?!? but I guess that's why it's fishing never know what the fish are gonna do..........

i'm not jealous boys i'm getting 2 or three every trip casting lures.fished for them for years live baiting dead baiting, trolling and now just casting lures only and keep none for the table.hard work but the rewards are awsome.hardbodies, softies, prawnstars and poppers you just need to unlock some doors and crack the code

    Re: Noosa River Jacks....again

Whoa... Not looked for a day or two and it seems the world's gone bonkers..

    Let me Clarify...

I use softies, fly, poppers, bombers, metals, flesh baits, prawns and liveys. I try something new all the time. From the boat or the bank.

This sport is called fishing, not catching. I enjoy catching, yes, but I love fishing. I have had good results on the lures and flesh baits with Jacks this season. Different rigs, improvisations. New spots, old spots.

I am not bothered if I don't catch as long as I am fishing and enjoy the challenge.

I know the river is full of fish and you must be some sort of idiot to not be able to catch a feed of something at Noosa.

Our self imposed limit should become part of a Noosa River Accord as a maximum.

In fact, one each per boat per night over 450mm would be even better.

If Killitt-Fillitt wants to help and show me how to go on a bit better, all advice is gratefully recieved. I am always willing to learn for the benefit of FISHING..

As for the Kill and grill comment, well, Jack has got to be the best tasting fresh fish in the water and bringing one home now and then, justifies to her who must be obeyed, why i spend our holiday money and 3 nights a week in the company of another man rather than her... And Aussie_stu ain't that hot let me tell you so i need the assistance of that Red Fish....

Sorry Matthias but that just aint the case here at Noosa.
Seriously you will never out fish the guys who are livebaiting for jacks at night.
As much as I love lure fishing here at Noosa it seems the jacks have seen every lure that exists.I have caught jacks on lures, plastics and poppers but you just dont outfish the livebaiters EVER!.

    Cheers
    Pete
