Chances are they won't be getting to many just yet but they will score a few to keep interest up . They just see the boats there from the freeway and assume it is a top spot. The prawns will be where you find them, there are a number of spots in the pine system that can produce you just need to be in the right place at the right time. Following the pack may get you a few but get out and explore, keep your ear to the ground, talk to others out on the water and take in as much info as you can from them and from this site. In recent years I've found the prawns to be thicker and of better quality after Easter and even into May/early June depending on conditions. Get out and have go for yourself following the pack isn't all that productive though IMO. Good luck and have fun.

your right Kev. I was there last sunday morning about 6 am and there was a small croud then. cast there for 15 min then went to the other wreck. before you know it there was a swarm of boats come in around me like flys to shit . I caught a hand full of good size prawns and a bucket load of mullet for my hours worth. but like Kev said and if you got a sounder, look around you will find better spots.
I normally wait till they come over to my neck of the woods, the mouth of the Logan, but a mate convinced me to try the pine next to the bridge. Is there anywhere you don't get a swarm of jellyfish in the pine? I have come to hate the sight of them when casting for prawns and their slime itches worse than a million mozzies. I think I won't try that again!

if you work te banks (there is f----al in the pine you'll do ok
with thes big tides they ere right up the mangroves. the first hour of the outgoing, try the close banks, (here's a hint "4" mile ck).
any where under that tide, sound for deeper holes. as nuggett said on his report, prawns look like fluiiffy clouds on the sounder. we normally prawn two up. ones' drivin' the other casting and vice vers.
best results this way!!!!!!!!
also try stinky bend
and the "flats" near castle hill
cheers
