Best Double Knot for Braid
What do you think is the best and strongest knot for tying a double in Braid?
Apparently the Bimini Twist and the Plait retain almost the full breaking strain of line used, whereas the Spider Hitch retains 80% of line strength in mono, but only about 50% line strength in Braid.
The difference being the Bimini Twist and the Plait are progressive splices whereas the Spider Hitch is a knot.
Are there other Double Knots out there?

Re: Best Double Knot for Braid
Im new to braid, but having just spoke to a guy from nomad fishing charters. They specialise in lure fishing for massive pelagices(50-80lb braid).
All of guides there use Bimini twist with a bristol knot mono connection. if its good enough to catch 50kg GT's its good enough for me.
Though if i am fishing with 30lb or less braid and i bust off. I often just do a spider hitch and bristol

Yeh, as above. 40-50 turn Bimini Twist is the world-wide "standard".
