after not having much time to fish lately, i got some time today, so simonpp and i hit the tweed.
went down at about 11am in hope tide would turn the fish on, threw 5" snapback plastics around in the current and between us got a nice mixure of tailor and trevally. also lost alot of tailor due to their teeth having a bit of a disagreement with our leaders.
the tailor were good fun even putting in some nice leaps, which accounted for a couple of spat hooks.
Hey yella,
Simon here, i'm the other guy in the photo's... yeah we do lose the odd lure there, today i had a particularly bad run and lost 3 or 4 to snags and another couple to tailor teeth. In saying that though i haven't fished it in a while and i was a bit out of tune, you get it worked out after a while and avoid the snags.
marty,
not doing the summer seriers, unfortunately my little tinnie does cut the mustard with abt requirements.
but it was nice watching some of sweet boats getting around while we were out there.
yella,
as simon siad lures do regularly find the rocks, which makes a snorkle a very worthing investment for the next days high tide.
Nice fish fellas. I always see guys snorkling the wall in Winter during tailor season picking up the metals that get lost...too bloody cold for me though.
Nice fish mate. I nailed a 47cm Big Eye and 36cm GT in the current In the prefish for the ABT yesterday aswell, they go hard on 4lb main 4lb leader! Great fun though and a little hairy at times. There was alos some Tailor chasing down Simon's plastics in the canals but none connected well enough to stay hooked . This morning the Trevally were thick! It's a real pitty we had to avoid them for those fidgety Bream . Oh well ended up doing ok anyway .
