    Threadfin breeding in Brisbane River?

Went casting for banana prawns with my mate last night not far from the Gateway Bridge. Caught about 1 kilo of prawns and a baby trreadfin about 4inches (10cm) long. Looks like they are breeding in the River as I doubt that a very small threadfin would swim so far south.

    Heya Dayoo

It would be nice to think they are breeding this far down, although a puttynose perch looks similar and it could be a small one of them maybe?.

Not a puttynose (blind Threadfin) nor striped threadfin caught pleaty of those over the past 40 years. This was definately a King Threadfin by the number of trailing filaments on the pectoral fin (five) and the dull orange colour of the pectoral fin.

We caught one in the cast net last weekend in the pine about the same size up near the rock wall. Didn't have as much luck with the prawns though and we also learnt why it's also called the STINKY wall.
