Burrum River Help Needed

I'm spending a week at Burrum Heads starting on the 22nd of this month.

I was hoping someone could give me some tips/ locations etc.

Will you be landbased or taking a boat?

When I was there last August there were Flathead on the banks out the front of the caravan park.

Directly opposite the caravan park, on the northern bank (named Black Bank) is a popular area - tide flows thru there fairly hard but plenty of snags, sandbanks, etc.

If you head out of the river and follow the markers, there are sections with steep ledges (southern side) and cut thrus to the flats - often find fish here.

Obviously as the season changes, the fish will move around. I would suggest going into the tackle store at Burrum, spend a few dollars and ask for a recent report. I think they still sell a map of the local area with a plenty of fish locations on it.

Heaps of spots up river, but it really depends on what you are chasing?
