    Smile twinnies wier

went to twin waters wier 4 a flick this morning and had a ball. i got a nice trevally (gt) 34cm as soon as i put the line in the water. then got smashed over ond over again by this school of nice queenies, they stole all of my live prawns and live poddy mullets but i did managed to got 2 on my last 2 mullet ,so i was stoked. i have not caught queenfish since i left darwin 8 years ago, they both went 56cm to the fork, verry verry happy. i then flicked lures around for an hour but only managed a 32cm cod on squidgy bug and to good hits on a popper. i then moved to a different spot in twinnies and got hit 4 times by these big bream on my baby rmg but no hook up (i have never had bream hit so hard and not have had a hook up ) so i blew my chance there in that spot to get a big corker so i moved to a new spot i have allways just driven past and never bothered about , i put a squidgy bug back on and cast out and started doing the bug walk along the top then out of no where a nice jack comes up has a good long look at the bug then taps it on the tail then disappears,it did this 3 times, i was so piss off so i had one last cast in the direction that the jack headed and let the bug sink this time ,and .....hop.........hop..hop.bang zzzzzzzzz. i hook some thing and it was makeing my bream rod sing it made a good 40m run and jumped clean out of the water (BIG SEA MULLET) i could not belive it , a mullet on a bug and a big one to at 58cm, verry verry happy. then i had to get back to my boss lady

    Re: twinnies wier

Will have to dive that weir one day and retrieve the (conservatively) 36 gazillion lures I've lost to the wire.
It gets to the point where I wont actually fish the weir but either just outside or well inside.
I've certainly never done as well as you have well done.
I've only ever got a couple of flatties and a cod outside and some bream & tiny flatties inside.
You'll know me if you see me, a bearded freak swearing a blue streak as I tie on another lure.
    Cheers mate

Nuggstar i fish there quite often with hard bodies, soft plastics & livies
i have had some real good fish out of the whole system at times, keep up the good work. Oh yeah i have lost some serious lures over the years.
