    Smile Bay spaniard

Followed a mate out to the middle of the bay to troll for some mackerel. Blowing n/w to n/e 10 to 15 knots. After about an hour caught lots of undersize dogges. Lost a few good ones, must have been spotties we thought. Then hooked up on something good, turned out to be a spottie about 4kg. Kept trolling for another hour when the line went off big time, this was good. To our surprise it was a spaniard about 12kg. Ended up with 7 doggies, 1 spottie & 1 spaniard. It was the second spaniard I've seen caught in tne bay in the last month.

Great effort! Where abouts in the bay were you when you got him because the seas in those pics appear to be a lot more calmer than they were when I was out there today!!

    Thumbs up Re: Bay spaniard

Can you imagine the envy that you have created in the Ausfish community?!!!

Well done! I suspect that is almost a once-in-a-lifetime treat in Moreton Bay.
