Furuno FCV620 Transducer options for Bertram 25??
I am not sure what transducer to use, transom mount, through-hull or in-hull for Furuno FCV 620. Transom mount is cheapest and easiest, but the boat lives on a mooring so I need to pull it out($$$) to fit it and from reading other posts it sounds like it can take some time to get the ducer working right. Is this true or not?
There is an old through hull in the boat already that is aiming out to the side not straight down, I could reuse the existing hole and mount a bronze ducer on a fairing block $$$$$
Third option is a in hull ducer that I can mount in the bilge. Seems like a good alternative but I loose the water temp which is a good thing to have.
I will be using it in anything from 2m in Lake Macquarie to the shelf off Port Stephens. With a top speed of 30knots.
Thoughts, suggestions????

Check the airmar transducer site you will find that there is thru hull transducer
available in bronze s/s &plastic with tilted elements to allow for hull angle .could allso look at buying o/s. These transducers only protrude 5mm so do not require a fairing block .
