Thread: Speaking of Tools

Best - I don't have a Garage (shed) yet, so it would have to be the slab I recently had layed underneath the house that is the foundation of my garage. Nothing worse that working on the dirt. other than that it would have to be my Triton 2000 work centre and my Hitachi 12LCH digital drop saw.

Worst - knowing that I have to put four walls, windows and doors up over the new slab.

The walls are the easy bit matey.
The hard bits over. The slabs down.

Thinking of where your going to need power points and lights etc is the really hard bit.

I don't know Finga, the hard part for me is keeping the floor clear and all the wifes junk out of me work shop, she's got this idea that garages are for storage, wrong!.

Think the hard part is a safe place to have the bench vice, don't matter where you put it, the kids always bang there head on it.

    Hi Guys

Favorite TOOL would have to be DREMEL. Just great for all sorts of things.
Least favorite tool--- Hammer- always seem to eventually hit a finger.

Tools aren't only for guys-- I spend more time in the shed than the other half. He brings the cuppa while I make whatever. Latest project 4 ' fish stand and cupboard. Picture attached.

    Hi RAG

My Colour Tune is new in the box but I am told that a slightly yellow glow is desired. I am stuffed If I know how you tune Methanol or Nitro with them....but I am told that this was the only way to go once upon a time.

Bloody dangerous tool if you ask me. It comes with a stainless reflector so that you don't have to put your eye in the firing range of a piece of glass...OFF THAT!

Bloody hell BilgeBoy sounds more like a weapon than a tool.
But I guess it's safer than putting your hand on the exhaust manifold and checking EGT.

Hmmmm not so silly actually, those laser temp sensors would be ideal for that!

Just looking for more reasons to get one.

My favorite tool would be my Myford lathe, it has a 30 inch long bed between centers. My second favorite tool was my Left-handed Cresent Wrench. Was, because a scumbag neighbour stole it. I would use it as a left handed tool even though I'm right handed. It was my favorite cresent 'cos my son gave it to me a long time ago. It was a Barco brand, I think the spelling is correct. The tool I hate most is my center punch. I hate it 'cos I can never find the rotten thing.
I buy the best quality tools I can find, they are the cheapest in the end as you only ever have to buy one of them.
