When you raise a vehicle that much (5") the angle of the tailshaft may be too much and the uni joints will bind up and break. Castor correction plates (fitted between leaf pack and spring perch) may correct it enough, but I am unsure for 5" lift. Worse case scenario is you will have to rotate the diff to correct the angle.
Rotating the diff involves cutting off the excisting spring perches and re-welding them back on in the correct position.
Depending on what sort of vehicle it is...I would look at brake lines (make sure they are long enough to handle the full articulation), hand brake cable can be affected too.
You will definately have to rotate the diffs. You will also have to get extended drive shafts, the standard ones won't have enough extension left when you drop wheels into holes. The extended brake lines are a must too, I'd get braided lines for abrasion resistance. You don't want to cut a line on a sharp rock. You may also need to reinforce the shackle mounts on the chassis as you are putting a higher load on them too.
Check the transport rules where you are as this sort of lift (especially the extended shackles) wouldn't be legal in QLD.

What vehicle???????
They're all different.
Patrols etc aren't all that hard to do, jeeps (some) cost more than your house to do etc etc etc
cheers for enlightening me on this the vfourbie is a suzuki sierra
Then I would strongly suggest wideing the wheel track as well...lifting a vehicle will effect the centre of gravity...and suzukis aint that wide to begin with...first decent side slope and over she goes!
I think the golden rule is for every inch you raise it...you widen the wheel track by half an inch....something like that anyway!

Check with the local authorities as they are just as strict with wheel track modifications. I know I sound like a pain, but the last thing you want is to crash and hurt someone only to find out you have an illegal modification. No insurance and they can sue you as you were neglectful.

cheers daniel will do btw your second name isnt ross by anychance
You can add wheel spacers, but they are illegal on road and add alot of extra strain to the axle and so on...
There are a few ways to widen wheel track...getting larger offset rims will do the job, but that can put more strain on your wheel nuts. A common mod done these days with zooks is putting hilux diffs underneath, but check with a local engineer to see if they will blue plate it first.
that seems a lot of hassle and moneyi think ill take big rims ok daneil just wondering cuz i kno sum1 called bill ross and he has a son call dan and he lives in cloundra
