Contact the Australian Bass Angler at Penrith. They will have everything you need - excellent set up for fly gear. They will also put you onto Guides for the Blue Mountains if you wish.
I am here on business for the week in Sydney. This is my first time to Australia. Upon arriving I learned a change in my business schedule may allow me to make a run at laying some line down on Australian water. I would love to fly fish the Blue Mountains, but I have NO gear with me and need to find an outfitter. Can anyone give me the name of a reputable Guide that can fully outfit me? I think it would be a crying shame to travel all the way over here from Denver Colorado and miss the opportunity to experience fly fishing in the Australian wilderness.
My second need is less urgent. Are there any fly fishing shops in Sydney? I have a fly fishing cap collection from everywhere I go, and would love one from Australia.
If NO--- I WILL MAKE THE FOLLOWING OFFER:
A Cap Swap. I will send a fly fishing cap from Colorado to an individual who sends me a fly fishing cap from Australia.
I really hope to hear from someone soon.

The other one that is very good - and in the Sydney CBD is The Compleat Angler. They are in the Dymocks building in George St - 3rd floor from memory. The also have a terrific set up. Although neither store would be what you have back home. The stores don't come that big over here.
Disagree with statement the stores don't come that big over here.
Some stores in Australia are very large ie Fishing Tackle Australia at Coffs Harbour with over two million lures on the shelves.
Back to thread also Fly Fishing in Sydney Harbour, lots of great fish in the harbour to be caught on Fly.
Am sure one of the local guides in Sydney or up on the Hawesbury does fly.
Would be something different to your normal fishing.
Pity you weren't here longer to go north to the impoundments in Qld and catch a 50 or 60lb barramundi on fly. Now that would be something.

Thanks for the fast responses---You guys are awesome....much appreciated!
As gunna said, best fly fishing store in Sydney there is another complete angler out near Villawood. But the city one is the go.
Now where to go, there is awesome trout fishing in the Blue Mountains but takes some hiking in. Out near Lithgow there is some good river and lake trout fishing. Too the south of Sydney you have good fishing at Fitzroy Falls and Pejar dams and in the Snowy mountains you probably have Australia's jewel in the crown alpine trout fisheries, just pick your lake or stream.
