Just a quick note, spotted 2 dolphins swimming up the pine river past the bruce highway bridge. Didn't know the pine held dolphines as well.

Yes - I've seen them many times. That one with the beat up dorsal fin and the fairly mouldy looking skin has been around for years

The old guy with the beat up dorsal is a regular in the Pine and sometimes in the bay. We used to call him Scruffy until we found out from the dolphin feeding at Tangalooma that they call him Freddy (as in Kreuger).
fair dinkum sunny? does he go over there regularly as well? for years ive called him buster, for obvious reasons. amazing that he makes it over to tangers regularly! surprising how far up the pine ive seen him.
cuzza
I believe that old mottled fellow is an Indo Pacific Dolphin, a different species to the Dolphins that you see more regularily, has a different shaped dorsal.
Someone please correct me if i am wrong.
Cheers,

Ive seen that old busted up fella there quite reguarly, 1 night a few months back in the dark of the night he jumped no more than 5meters from my boat scared the S#^t out of me and really woke me up I'm sure he was laughing he just hung around for a while after that and I didnt catch another thing.
THOUGHT OF THE DAY
Live life like a dog,If you cant eat it or hump it ,
pee on it and walk away.
I lurve seeing dolphin.
It will be a pity if they become the river equivalent of the grey nurse, and are the reason for creating restrictions, as is the case down South in either Melbourne or Adelaide.
Then again, if the restrictions are reasonable it would be ok.
Always have a chuckle when I hear someone saying that X waterway must be clean as there are dolphin in it. I often see them in Cabbage Tree Creek at the ramp opposite and just down stream of the sewage outfall.....
