went up to this beautiful dam for the first time with a mate early aussie day,on the water by 5.00am and with not a ripple on the water we headed straight to the weed edges to try poppers, pete wa the first to hook up to what we thought was a good toga but on getting it to the boat we saw a stud bass going 3.5kg and measuring 540mm,what a great initiation to a new dam,i had the next strike but didnt hook up and this fish also was big, went quiet so we started trolling to our next spot only to crack a patten with this method using jackalls a steady flow of good bass came to the boat ranging from 200mm to 450mm with heaps lost as well .stayed till dark to try poppers again ,a bit windy but we had a go with me spotting the only boil in between the waves,i put my bubble pop near the mark and didnt even get the chance to bloop it when it was nailed by a good toga, some ariels and good runs then in the net with it going aroung 750mm and 4kg,great day and great company ,we will return. cheers AL

Well done mate....there have been some great bass coming from Macdonald recently and those in the know have been knocking over heaps at first light on poppers.....There is one popper in particular that has been working really well.....Ththey are called Gobos and are made by Owner.....Great quality poppers with needle sharp trebles....They are worth a look.
Cheers
